Simple Cornice Board
- or create unique shaped cornice boards

Foam core board
(standard 40" x 36" piece)
2/3 yds. of 54" decorator fabric
1 1/2 yds. fringe

Directions

Cut
foam core  in half, lengthwise, creating a workable piece 40" x 15" or 18".

Measure width of window and add 2" for return. Cut length of
foam core  to this measurement.

Mark the center of the board and measure up about 5" from bottom edge. Draw cutting lines from bottom corner to center mark to form inverted 'V' shape. Use X-acto knife to cut board on drawn lines.

Score the board 1" from each end on front side of board and bend back to create a return.

Cut batting to fit front of cornice. Glue batting to front of board.

Cut fabric 2" larger than the foam board
on all sides. Place over batting and glue edges to back of board. Clip fabric at inverted 'V' section and corners to create a smooth fit.

Glue fringe on bottom edge.

Mount to window frame with a staple gun.
